A.
While the Season/Career Hunt modes are single player, the mini games in The Hunt offer you the chance to compete against friends. Duck Hunt and ATV Racing allow multiple players to compete, one at a time, alternating turns. In Forest Frenzy, the competition is even more intense, with two players able to compete at the same time to see who can score the most points.

Q.I’ve been wandering around forever and can’t find any animals. What’s going on?
A.
The animals are there, but will be scared off and hide if you aren’t careful. Like real hunting—remember to reduce the noise you create with stealth, and try using a call or scent. Also, riding around on your ATV will increase the distance at which animals will be able to hear you.

Q.I’m having trouble with the Duck Hunt mini-game. Are there any tips to help me increase my score?
A.
We’ve found that many people who struggle with this mini-game aren’t “leading” the ducks enough. Try aiming just ahead of the ducks in the path they are flying. That way, your bullet will get there at the same time they do, increasing your ability to score big points!

Q.I’ve noticed some other hunters/characters positioned throughout the locations. Why are they there?
A.
The other characters you’re noticing are actually Game Wardens. If you approach a Game Warden, he will offer you a spot challenge, which gives you an opportunity to earn reputation points.

Q.How do I get more equipment?
A.
You begin the game with a standard arsenal. As you progress through the levels, you will unlock more weapons that you can mix and match in the Bass Pro Shops in-game store. You are limited to the number of weapons you can carry- 1 rifle, 1 bow, and one shotgun. Head to the Bass Pro Shops Store, in the Equipment section, to take a look at the weapons you have available and make changes.

Q.I’m seeing animals in the game but they keep running away and are impossible to shoot. What can I do?
A.
Remember to be patient and use all your tools to sneak up on the animals. They can hear and smell hunters approaching and will run away if you startle them. Try using scent removers, approach slowly, and use your “Hunter Sense/Stalking Ability” to approach the animals unnoticed. (+ button on the Wii Remote, or Y button on the Xbox Controller).

Q.I can’t find any animals! What’s going on?
A.
As mentioned above, the animals in the game have keen senses and may have noticed you approaching. If they do see, smell or hear a hunter coming for them, they will do their best to hide or run away. Use the pointers above to sneak up on the animals for a chance to take a shot. If none of this is working, there are other tools in the game to help you find your prey. Use your GPS unit to show you new spots to hunt and different terrain. Also, you’ll notice glowing orange lights coming up from the ground when a nearby animal has left tracks or droppings. Approach the orange light and push the right stick on your Xbox Controller or Left on the D-pad using your Wii Remote). Keep in mind that your ATV will definitely spook animals as you approach, so its best to hop off and walk around to find prey once you’ve selected an area to hunt in.

Q.How do I use Calls?
A.
Pay close attention to the button sequence on the screen. You will need to push all the buttons shown, in the correct order, in the alloted time in order to execute a call. If you successfully complete a call, the game will let you know if there are no animals nearby.

Q.How do I use a Bow in the game?
A.
Remember that bows are short-distance weapons, so you will need to get closer to your prey than when you are using a gun. You may also need to aim higher than you would with a gun, especially in Pro Mode. A huge bonus of using bows is that they are very quiet and when used correctly, may allow you to take down multiple animals in one small area.

Q.What is a Legendary Animal?
A.
Each state has a Legendary Animal that will be difficult to find, but will earn you a large amount of Reputation Points. This will be an animal of Legendary proportions that has been roaming the area for years generating tall tales and outsmarting hunters. If you manage to find and take down a Legendary Animal you will be able to view that animal in your Trophy Room in the BPS Store.

A.

Each state has a re-creation of one special King for you to track down. After you’ve found one and taken it down, you can view it in the BPS Store and find out more about that buck, where it was found, and the hunter who bagged it.

Q.What’s the difference between Pro and Arcade Mode?
A.
Pro Mode is for the hunter that has honed their stalking abilities and is ready for more challenging hunts. In Pro Mode, animals’ senses are more aware and it will be harder to sneak up on them. They will detect you from further away and you will also need to be more precise with your shots. You will need to use all the tools in your arsenal- scents, calls, and stealth, to be successful.

Q.What types of information does the in-game GPS Unit provide?
A.
Your GPS unit is a very useful tool. In addition to a map of the overall location, it will indicate where to find Spot Challenges, inform you of your rank in a tournament, tell you what tags you have, and will show you the location of your ATV.
Q.I can’t find my ATV, is there any way to get it back?
A.
Use your GPS unit at any time to determine the location of your ATV. If you can’t find it or don’t want to walk all the way back to get it, try playing a Spot Challenge. After you complete any Spot Challenge, your ATV will automatically appear next to you.
Q.I got kicked out of a level/location? What did I do wrong?
A.
Remember that The Hunt follows the traditional regulations of real-life hunting. This means that you are not allowed to shoot females, and you may only shoot animals for which you have tags. Refer to your in-game GPS at any time to see if you have the appropriate tag, before trying to take down your prey. If you fail to comply with these regulations, you may receive warnings or be forced to restart the level.
